Glyn Reynolds Reports in from Whiteacres National Fishing Month
We were invited to take part in the National Fishing Month at the fantastic Whiteacres complex. We jumped at this because as a forward thinking company we realise that these events are very important for the future of our great sport.
The format is that we take some of our sponsored anglers down to offer free tuition to any of the residents staying at Whiteacres during our visit.
Well we had a fantastic few days and the response was very rewarding.
Most of the attendee,s were children (which was very encouraging)accompanied by their parents most of whom had never fished before, in fact we had one family of six of whom only the father had fished and by the end of their time with us all had caught fish including mum. As you can see some right munters as well.
To see the youngsters there and the joy and pride on their faces upon catching a fish makes this type of event very rewarding for both us as a company but also the anglers taking part.
Hopefully some of the girls and boys (and parents) will take their experience away with them and take up our beloved sport. As you will see from the attached pictures some most definitely will.
We also ran a raffle of a fantastic Match Pro rod each day for those that put their name down and attended. Also we dished out some of our fantastic new hooks and hook to nylons.
This as you can imagine was well received.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Clint Elliot and his fantastic staff at Whiteacres for making us welcome and supplying bait when needed, it was really appreciated.
Parkdean for supplying the superb caravans we stayed in. Never stayed at Whiteacres before but will definitely look to get down there in the near future.
I also want to say how proud I am of my anglers Mick Bull, Jon Whincup and Phil Canning. The way they were with the children especially was awesome to watch.
Last but not least my company Frenzee for supplying the prizes and covering the cost of our visit. It's not cheap to do these events but they always support them so big credit must go to the directors.
A great few days and can't wait for next year.
